By the Side of the Road Bed and Breakfast used to serve as a Civil War hospital but is now home to an award-winning bed and breakfast with three cottages and four Main House suites. Only a few minutes from Harrisonburg, it feels miles away from reality.
Each luxurious suite offers an elegant personal bath—some with whirlpools, all with tubs and showers. The three Cottage Suites each come with its own oversized, 110-gallon whirlpool tub beside a fireplace. One of the cottages, the Bergey Cottage, is only steps from the Main House but offers a wonderful recluse to relax and spend quality time. It has its own front porch with a pond view.
